Waiting for movement
What am I looking at? Is this a weapon or a camera? An enemy or a friend? Or is it just a dead pixel in the screen? It is the communicative redundancy of the image that gives the television cliché a unique dimension – trust in the false.
Waiting for Movement is based on classified gun-camera footage which was published by Wikileaks in 2010, depicting a fatal mistake – the air strike in the suburb of New Baghdad on a group of people that included Reuters news staff.
Waiting for Movement is not about faith in the untruth but rather the affective pleasure of deception and the ethics of falsehood.
